HELD: July 12-14,2000 --
The Imperial College of Science, Technology and
Medicine, London, UK.
EMERGING TECHNOLOGY
Software companies are faced with
rapid change, heightened global competition, and an increasing need for
improvements to cycle time, cost, and quality. Software Process Simulation
is an emerging technology that can help cope effectively with these challenges.
Software Process Simulation is being applied to the management of software
projects, product life cycles, and organizations, in areas such as planning,
tracking, staffing policies, resource allocation, analysis of feedback
loops, as well as the evaluation of process changes.
PRESENTING THE LATEST ADVANCES
The Software Process Simulation
Modeling (ProSim 2000) workshop will bring both researchers and practitioners
together in order to jointly explore the benefits of, and issues involved
in, Software Process Simulation. The workshop is a forum for presenting
the latest advances in this field, promoting the open interchange of ideas,
and exploring potentials for collaborative work.
FOCUS ON APPLICATION
ProSim 2000 will focus on the
application of Software Process Simulation research to real-world problems,
as well as advances which will provide the foundation for Software Process
Simulation Modeling in the future. Technical presentations will address
a variety of approaches including the application of System Dynamics and
Discrete Event Simulation models to support the management of software
development.
WORKSHOP SETTING FACILITATES INTERACTION
ProSim 2000 will be held at the
Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, UK.
