Facilities

ProSim '98 will be held at the Silver Falls Conference Center. The Conference Center is a rustic facility designed for comfort and tranquility in the natural setting of Silver Falls State Park. The Center is situated in a secluded meadow, surrounded by lush forests and a seven-mile hiking trail providing access to ten spectacular waterfalls in the Silver Creek Canyon. Participants have rooms in one of the Center's lodges or cabins to help facilitate significant interaction.

The Silver Falls Conference Center is about 20 miles from the nearest town. Stores, restaurants, or other vestiges of civilization are not available. Please ensure that you bring any amenities (e.g., medicines, clothing, film, toothbrush, shampoo, etc.) with you. Bed/bath linens will be provided. While you are at the workshop, the telephone number for emergencies ONLY is (503)873-3113. There are no telephones or televisions in the rooms.

Clothing

Participants should bring warm, casual clothing. An umbrella or a raincoat is highly recommended. If you wish to take advantage of one of the many hiking trails, make sure you bring comfortable walking or running shoes. You can expect a pleasant walk from the cabins to the meeting halls/dining room.
